Our society doesn't have hollywood dreams anymore...
No being in the spotlight, Glamour, The need to be in
the limelight. Everyone just wants to get our five
minutes on television. People want to say "guess where
I show up on COPS" or "I got on the Real World". They
want their own shows instead of Their own set of
movies.
Noone wants to follow in the shoes of great
stars like Mae West or Marilyn Monroe... people want
to be on american idol. They want to create drama to
make people feel the need to "tune in" next week.
What in the world is wrong with waiting 3 years for
the next epic spectaular staring, "Ewan McGregor"?!
Or waiting until next summer for the next comedic
classic staring "Richard Pryor" and "Gene Wilder"?
Why not the beautiful romantic story about a woman who
can cope with everything in the war except losing the
love of the man she wants, starring "Vivian Leigh" and
"Clark Gable"?
I miss the days when making a movie
was a work of sweat, soul and art and going to the
movies was like going to the opera, you put on your
best clothes and went for a few dollars at the most,
including the food, and leave feeling good about the
world.
