Hello friends and welcome to the first of many discoveries during our
journey together. You will know me as Hunnie, but I am many things.

  • I am woman of 42 years, an Aquarian
  • I am a daughter of wonderful and supportive parents
  • I am a sister to a brother whom I love dearly and still argue with
  • I am mother of 5 almost grown children
  • I am a grandmother of one beautiful granddaughter
  • I am a divorcee' 2x over
  • I am a BBW or Big Beautiful Woman
  • I am a lover of family, friends, art, music, laughing and life
  • I am a fighter of those who would hurt my family or discriminate against us
  • I am a Texan
  • I am a sufferer of depression
  • I have addictions:
  • Smoking
  • Caffeine
  • Chocolate
  • My PC
  • Paintshop Pro
  • Graphic and Webdesign

Most of all I am always fighting not to be "labeled" because as you can see
there are many facets to who I am. I hope to discover many more.

This website is dedicated to one of those facets. Being a BBW.
There are days I am proud and actively assert that part of myself.
Then there are days when I am unable to meet the disapproving gazes
of people that judge me based solely on my size. I am not one who
has exclusively fat friends or all skinny friends. I do my best to choose
my friends for who they are on the inside, NOT what they look like.

I realize that there is part of the size acceptance community that says,
"Hey I'm fat and I'm trying to get fatter!" Or they urge BBW/BHM's not to
lose weight. I'm not of that group. Nor am I going to strictly advocate
weight loss and trying to lose weight just to be more accepted by the
world in general. My general philosophy on the matter is that you should
be who you are. If you are fat, healthy and want to get fatter, then by
all means do what makes you happy. If you are fat, unhealthy and
want to lose weight, then if that will make you happy with who you are,
I wish you the best of luck.

I personally am unhealthy. I have already had a double bypass
and suffer from serious hypertension. Also in my research
on clinical depression I have found that long time sufferers of
depression tend to become overweight. Makes sense huh?
I thought it would be the other way around though. That because
I was overweight I would more easily suffer from depression. Not true.

Anyway, in this site you will find links to all sorts of size positive
and activism sites, gorgeous art sites solely of the rubenesque
form, diet and nutrition sites, fresh and funky sites for women in
all sizes and shapes, sites made by and for the large sized community,
and of course, resources for clothing, shoes, and jewelry and lastly,
links to some just plain fabulous sites that are not size related.

Enjoy your journey and before you move on
please read about some of the things I am currently
working on and take a moment to sign my guestbook.
